ASIAN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY LONDON – THE ZETTER TOWNHOUSE & THE HONOURABLE ARTILLERY COMPANY
I love India I really do. I fell in love with this amazing country as a young backpacker, hands down the most exciting place I’ve ever been to. Shooting an Indian wedding brings me back, the colours, the hospitality, the focus on family and the spectacular dancing. Geeta and Nakul came to me after I shot Nakul’s sisters wedding. They were having a series of celebrations across the week from a civil ceremony and afternoon tea at Kew Gardens to a traditional Hindu ceremony and a 300+ party at the Honorable Artillery Company in Clerkenwell. What really stood out for me was the contrast between the traditional and the modern, an energetic Barat procession in the midst of towering skyscrapers and Geeta, getting ready in chic East London’s Zetter Townhouse wearing a Saree. The traditional elements of the wedding were offset by plenty of other cultural and modern influences ranging from a Caribbean steel band to a typically English red coated Toast Master.
